Hello Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am Nick Sirek and will be the new Assistant Principal at the elementary and secondary buildings. I am excited to be joining the Augusta Area School District and have heard many great things about the community and school. The district has a terrific reputation in the greater Chippewa Valley.

I am a fourth generation educator and come from a family of teachers. This school year will be my 20th year in education. I began my career at Sherman Elementary school in Eau Claire where I taught fourth and fifth grades. I then moved to DeLong Middle School and taught sixth grade science, social studies, and reading. I served two years as the Dean of Students at DeLong and then had one year back in the classroom before joining you. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and have my administration degree from Viterbo University.

As the assistant principal, I will be primarily responsible for managing student behaviors at the secondary building, managing issues on the bus, and working with students and families struggling with attendance. I believe a strong preK-12 education is critical to success beyond school regardless of the path you choose following graduation. Participation and engagement in learning are paramount to your success as a student. Having high expectations and supporting students as they work to meet those expectations are equally important. I believe learning can and should be fun. I look forward to supporting you in this important work. I know school and learning can be difficult but if we work together and work diligently then we will achieve much.

When I’m not at school I enjoy spending time with my family - especially my three nieces. I like spending time outdoors running, gardening, biking, and kayaking. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and traveling.
